Comments: Address given as; Father, 105, Wellington Street, Ashton under Lyne. Survived the sinking of the liner/troop ship City of Barcelona [Ciudad de Barcelona] on the way to Spain. Deserted from Brunete and sent to Camp Lukacs. Deserted again in December. 'Bad element.' Deserted to England 2 January 1938. 'I believe this man is no better than a scab or stool pigeon and should be treated here in Spain as such.' However, despite his record he returned to Spain and was killed in the retreats.
