Comments: Was living in Cardiff before going to Spain. Worked in Recruit Company (Tarazona) sometimes visiting Albacete. He worked as assistant to the Political Commissar (Johnny Powers) and was much involved with Wall Newspapers (he claims to have won prizes for them). He went to Teruel in February 1938, became sick and was sent to hospital at Benicasim. He left there on 13 March 1938 to rejoin the Brigade and that is the last communication from him. The 'official' correspondence received later is not specific about his fate. Harry Dobson claimed he was wounded in the retreats and left behind.
