‘I thought then about the Spanish children / In the cellars of Guernica and Teruel’

From Israel, film-maker Eran Torbiner (‘Madrid before Hanita’, 2006) sends us this clip that he filmed and edited on 28 May this year with Helen Sarid, the daughter of SL Shneiderman, a Yiddish journalist from Poland who wrote from Spain during the civil war, reading her father’s poem ‘1942’. She reads it in Yiddish (with English subtitles):
