Comments: Address given as the Coldeast Colony (mental asylum) at Sarisbury, near Southampton, where he was a hospital orderly. Member of NALGO. Broke ankle at Madrigueras training camp in January 1937. Repatriation agreed in June 1937 on grounds of age and demoralisation. Arrived back in UK on 13 July 1937. Collapsed and died minutes after enlisting in the British Army to fight in WW2. Buried in Blackburn Cemetery Sec. C. R.C. Grave 1016.
