Manus O’Riordan, trade unionist, researcher and Ireland Secretary of the IBMT, died on 26 September 2021.
The IBMT has produced a short film tribute (above) highlighting Manus’ many contributions to the IBMT and its goals. ‘Remembering Manus’ was first shown on 9 October, at the IBMT’s 2021 AGM in Southampton. Manus’ father was Irish International Brigader Michael O’Riordan, author of ‘The Connolly Column’, which brought to light the story of the Irish International Brigaders in the Spanish Civil War. Manus took up his father’s mantle and tirelessly upheld and celebrated their fight for freedom and democracy.Posted on 11 October 2021.
