Post date: 11/03/2017

Curator of The Tolpuddle Martyrs Museum Tom De Wit writes about the unlikely story of a photograph being found of an International Brigade volunteer Archie Dolan, who died in the Battle of Jarama defending Madrid against Franco's fascists. The photograph had been salvaged from a Belfast charity bookshop years after an appeal was put out for pictures of Dolan, whose name was engraved on a bronze plate commemorating volunteers from Bristol and the South West.
