Ken Loach writes about ‘Land and Freedom’ as part of a discussion in the latest issue of ¡No Pasaran!
Issue 3-2020 of the IBMT magazine ¡No Pasaran!, which members received last week, features a 25th anniversary retrospective on 'Land and Freedom', Ken Loach's polarising Spanish Civil War film.
Loach himself weighs in on the discussion in an exclusive piece reflecting on the lessons of the civil war. A review of the film by the late John Dunlop, a British Battalion veteran, is also reprinted, along with a commentary by IBMT Chair Jim Jump.
Other highlights in the magazine include an interview with author Giles Tremlett, an account of the Cypriot volunteers and a review of Paul Preston's latest book.
