¡NO PASARÁN! now out
The latest issue of the IBMT magazine, now called ¡NO PASARÁN!, has been posted to members. The cover features a picture of singer-songwriter Joe Solo in front of a new memorial plaque in Bolton.
The magazine is an exclusive benefit for IBMT members. If you haven’t received your copy yet, let us know by emailing admin@international-brigades.org.uk and we'll check the mailing list. Plans for Battle of Jarama commemoration

Dates set for Leicester and Wigan unveilings
A new memorial to the International Brigade volunteers from Leicester, including three who were killed in Spain, will be unveiled at 1pm on Good Friday, 30 March, in the city’s Market Place. This will be followed by music and drinks at nearby Duffy’s Bar (Pocklingtons Walk, Leicester LE1 6BU).
In Wigan, a memorial (pictured above) to the 12 local International Brigade volunteers is to be unveiled on 14 April, Spain’s Día de la República (Day of the Republic) – the Second Republic was proclaimed on 14 April 1931. The event starts at 12pm at Southside Gardens, next to Wigan Town Hall (Library Street, Wigan WN1 1YN). Afterwards there will be a reception at the adjacent Museum of Wigan Life, including speakers, exhibition, buffet and music from Joe Solo and the Bolton Clarion Choir.

16-18 February MADRID - The annual international Battle of Jarama commemoration hosted by the AABI Spanish International Brigades friendship group, which attracts visitors from International Brigade associations around the world as well as many Spanish supporters. The visit includes a commemoration at the memorial to the Scottish volunteers at Tarancón on Friday, a walk across the battlefield (sensible shoes and outdoor clothing essential) followed by a complimentary lunch on Saturday and a selection of optional activities on Sunday. 18 February MANCHESTER - Annual re-dedication of the Manchester International Brigade memorial and commemoration of the Battle of Jarama, commencing at 11am and lasting about an hour inside Manchester Town Hall, Albert Square, Manchester M2 5DB. All IBMT members, trade unionists and labour movement activists are invited to attend.
