'IBMT Day' at the Pallant House Gallery

The Pallant House Gallery in Chichester (9 North Pallant, PO19 1TJ) is hosting the ‘Conscience and Conflict: British Artists and the Spanish Civil War’ exhibition until 15 February 2015.

 

On 14 February 2015 the gallery will host an ‘IBMT Day’. IBMT members will be able to visit the exhibition and hear talks by its curator, art historian Simon Martin (at 2pm), and by International Brigades historian Richard Baxell (at 3pm). The combined charge for entry and admission to the talks will be £9 per person (normally £8.50 entry and £9 for each talk). In addition, the following events will be taking place during the exhibition:

 

4 December 2014: ‘I am Spain: The Men and Women who Went to Fight Fascism’: a talk by David Boyd Haycock, author of ‘I Am Spain’; 6pm; £9. 

 

15 January 2015: ‘Dora versus Picasso’: a staged poetic dialogue between Pablo Picasso and his muse and mistress Dora Maar in 1937 by Grace Nicols, with music and masks, directed by Mark Hewitt; 6pm; £12. 

 

12 February 2015: ‘Poetry of the Spanish Civil War’: a recital introduced by Professor Valentine Cunningham; 6pm; £12.
