Message received from Maciej Sanigórski and Jeremi Galdamez in Poland…
On the 80th anniversary of the Spanish Civil War, we cordially invite you, IBMT members, to the celebrations in Warsaw at 12pm on 16 July commemorating the Polish volounteers in the International Brigades.
It is very important for us as it’s the first time in many years that we celebrate the actions of Polish antifascists in Spain. What is more, we organise them in particularly unfavorable political conditions - the goverment wishes to erradicate the street names related to left-wing heroes, in this case the “Dąbrowszczaków” street. We would be pleased to host the representatives of IBMT if it is possible for you to join us in Warsaw. The celebrations will be rather modest as we are organising them all by ourselves, but you can count on our hospitality.
