Battle of Jarama commemoration on 17-19 February 2017

There will be an 80th anniversary commemoration of the Battle of Jarama organised by the Madrid-based AABI International Brigades friendship group on the weekend of 17-19 February 2017. 

Supported by the IBMT, the weekend will bring together International Brigade supporters from around the world and will include visits to the Jarama battlefield south-east of Madrid and the memorial in Tarancón to the Scottish volunteers who died in the battle. 

The tour of the battlefield (on Saturday 18 February) will take in the positions of the British and American battalions. On the evening of Friday 17 February a gala concert is planned in Rivas Vaciamadrid.

Full details of the programme have still to be announced. It is likely that an IBMT coordinator will soon be appointed for the visitors from Britain. Check the Events page for updates.
