Manchester

Carved wood memorial in Town Hall, Albert Square, to Manchester volunteers. Erected by Manchester City Council and Manchester branch of printworkers’ union SOGAT, 12 February 1983.  The memorial is currently in the Central Library, St Peter's Square,M2 5PD, during renovation work to the Town Hall.

Plaque on granite plinth (on main road in centre of village) to Peter Daly and the International Brigades. Daly died in September 1937 from wounds sustained at Quinto. Erected by Peter Daly Society Wexford and unveiled 3 September 2011.

Polished granite memorial in the Old Spotted Dog ground of Clapton Community Football Club, 212 Upton Lane, London E7 9NP to the volunteers from what is now the London Borough of Newham. Raised by Clapton CFC and unveiled on 26 April 2025 by IBMT President Marlene Sidaway. It includes lines from a poem written by International Brigader David Marshall, long-time Newham resident and partner of Marlene Sidaway.

Oldham

Plaque by ceramics artist Jim Robison to the Oldham volunteers, which was unveiled in 1986. It is located in the reception area of the J R Clynes Building (formally the Old Library), in the Civic Centre building, on Union Street, Oldham, OL1 1UT.

Oldham

A great initiative by sheep farmer Karl Jones, who had the plaque made and erected on the side of his farmhouse, which is close to where Clem Beckett lived. It is located at Ivy Cottage, Back o’th’ Low Road, Top o’th’ Meadows, Waterhead, Oldham OL4 3SG. It may be easier to find than it looks: Take Huddersfield Road out of Oldham, turn left into Hollins Road, and just carry on up the hill for about a mile. Ivy Cottage is on the left just after the junction of Back o’th’ Low Road and Top o’th Meadows Lane.
