The Charlie Donnelly Winter School returns to Dungannon on 24/25February after a number of years in abeyance. The Hill of the Ó Néill and Ranfurly Arts Centre will play host to many of the events scheduled for the weekend which will focus on the life and works of the Dungannon-born, revolutionary socialist poet.

On the eve of the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Jarama, the AABI Spanish International Brigades friendship group has produced the following account of the battle and explanation of its military and symbolic significance.

A Spanish edition of the IBMT’s flagship ‘Antifascistas’ book has been published in Spain and is now on sale. Written by Richard Baxell, Angela Jackson and Jim Jump, the lavishly illustrated hardback book runs to 128 pages and contains additional text and images not in ‘Antifascistas: British & Irish Volunteers in the Spanish Civil War’, which was first published in 2010.

As part of the commemorations for the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Jarama in Spain in February this year, Unite sponsored the reprint of Peter O’Connor’s memoirs ‘A Soldier of Liberty – Recollections of a Socialist and Anti-Fascist Fighter’.
